Urawa-ward, the center of Saitama Prefecture’s administrative offices such as the Saitama Prefectural Government and courts, has been developed as a bedroom community since the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923 and is now known as one of the top educational cities in the prefecture.
Omiya, which developed as a railroad terminal connecting Tokyo and the northern Kanto region, is known for Hikawa Shrine, the largest shrine in Musashi, Bonsai Village, which celebrated its 100th anniversary, and the legend of the Minuma Dragon.
Saitama Shin-Toshin and former Yono where Saitama Super Arena is located. The city hall was appealing “ Here is Yono-City”.
Iwatsuki, which is well-known throughout Japan as the city of hina dolls, was once a castle town and the center of the surrounding area. At the time of the abolition of feudal domains in the Meiji era (1868-1912), the Saitama Prefectural Office was located here, but it was relocated to Urawa after only one month. Almost no one in the city knew of this fact, and it literally became an urban legend.

This is a somewhat self-deprecating introduction, but I love my hometown because I myself am from Saitama City. The more I look into it, the more I find that Saitama City is a treasure trove of stories, and I hope that this will be an opportunity for you to learn about the charms of Saitama City.

Best GPS Art Award	Open to any artwork that fits the theme.	The number of “Likes! s and a vote by the jury.
GPS Art Walk Gold Award	Open to any artwork that fits the theme.	The number of “Likes! s and a vote by the jury.
Total Walk Distance Art Award	As INDIVIDUAL: Anyone can apply as long as the artwork fits the theme. As GROUP: Any group can apply, as long as the artwork fits the theme.	Total walking distance of a work of art. *The work must be judged by the jury as art.
Saitama Mayor’s Award	All artworks.	Selected by the Mayor of Saitama City.
Excellent Group Award	Saitama City elementary school division, junior high school division, group (corporate) division, 5 or more people per group, multiple groups from the same organization are allowed to participate.	Selected by jury. (Mayor of Saitama City, Yassan, etc.)
Sponsor’s Special Award	Residents of Saitama City or those who work or commute to Saitama City.	Selected by the sponsor.

• Winners will be honored at the “13th Saitama March – Minuma Two Day Walk” scheduled to be held on March 29 and 30, 2025.
