Partnering with the Ministry of the Environment for Rock Ptarmigan Awareness via Japan GPS Art Association
I am proud to announce my involvement as a supervisor and lead creator for the “Rock Ptarmigan Support Project with GPS Art,” a key awareness initiative by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan.
■ Background: A New Phase of Awareness and Cultivation
The Rock Ptarmigan, a National Special Natural Monument, has long been endangered. However, thanks to the success of the Ministry’s conservation and breeding programs, their population is now on the rise. This project marks a transition to the next phase: “Cultivation and Public Awareness.” GPS art has been selected as the primary medium to engage the public and promote these vital conservation efforts.
■ Role of Yassan and the Japan GPS Art Association
In collaboration with the Japan GPS Art Association, where I serve as President, I will be leading the following initiatives:
- Institutional Collaboration: Creating GPS art in partnership with zoos and environmental organizations.
- Course Development: Designing and releasing original GPS art courses that allow people to experience the world of the Rock Ptarmigan firsthand.
- Competitions: Organizing a dedicated GPS Art Contest to encourage nationwide participation and creativity.
By turning movement into a creative message, we aim to foster a deeper connection between people and this precious species. I look forward to mobilizing the GPS art community to support the future of the Rock Ptarmigan.
